Cant remove oil filter

So I purchased a mityvac to start doing my own oil changes and maintenance. Changed cabin filter and air filter however I cannot get the oil filter off with the wrench i purchased (size b from autozone). Just when it feels like it is about to crack loose it slips.

Any suggestions?

Also to verify, the oil dipstick tube is under the hood on the driver side (red plug with no security plastic thingy) correct?

Same thing happened to me the first time I changed my oil too. Seemed like the correct size wrench and it slipped. Use one size smaller, it's a tight fit. Be sure to turn it counter-clockwise...but you already knew that hahaha.

Same thing with me. I just wrapped a single strip of double sided carpet tape around the filter housing. Then the wrench was a nice tight fit and it came right off.

Always put oil on the o - rings before you install the cap and it will be easier to remove.

.. and don't over-tighten when you put the new one on. Hand tight, then a quarter turn with the wrench, that's all.

I wrapped a shop towel around mine and used a pipe wrench. It's better to have the right tool, of course.
