New owner says hello and thanks
Hi, first of all wanted to say hello and thank the forum for all the great info I have already gleamed. Having owned a 1978 w123 300d, a 1992 w124 400e, I recently bought a 2003 w211 e320. So far I love it. It's a one owner car with 100k, all the records, all maintenance and all the recalls we're taken care of. Interior of grey leather is in great shape and the black paint exterior is similarly great. The light grey interior seems to help with heat gain and is quite elegant; the wood and grey is an elegant combination. Not a huge fan of black and wood trim combinations. If one should not would not wear brown shoes with a black suit then black leather with wood trim seems similarly jarring. Warm grey leather and brownwood work very nicely together. But man it's easy to get dirty!
Anyway there are a couple things the car may need to have taken car of in the near future. One is the valve gaskets and/or breather covers are leaking. After reading this site I'm confident that I can take care of that myself when needed. One thread suggested trying to tighten the bolts on the valve and breather covers to make sure they are not just loose. I gave it a shot and the bolts did seem rather loose. So I torqued them down a bit and am waiting to see if the leaks improve or change. The rear main seal has a very very slow seep. That I'll wait on and send to my mechanic when it's time.
