Would battery malfunction aux battery

Hey guys does anyone know if your aux battery would cause a car scanner not to read does that to have a full charge to use a scanner to read a car .

If you are stating that you can't get the code reader to power up when it's plugged into the OBD port under the steering wheel, check the cigarette lighter fuse, as it's probably blown.

It powers up my scanner but does not read the port .
