Cool E500 electrical problems

I have a problem with the number plate lights, high level brake light in the trunk lid and remote trunk opening which have all stopped working, this leads me to think that it may be something simple like a disconnected earth strap within the lid, any ideas anyone.
I've yet to get into the trunk with the emergency key but any thoughts on what to look for would be appreciated.
I work away from home which doesn't help as the car is parked at the airport in secure parking most of the time, but I noticed it after I had shut the lid last time - luckily there is nothing in there I am desperate to get hold of..

No power to all of them, which is why I think it might be an earthing issue, everything which is on or works the trunk lid...

With mine, third brake light has about 3 of the LEDs not coming on, however, when you tap on them, the will come on, but will go out again. I took third brake light assembly out and checked it, and nothing appeared to be severed. The 3 LEDs would come on when I put pressure on them with my bare fingers.

What could be the problem here?

Found it....I think

I appear to have solved the problem to my issue, this morning I looked right back to threads dated 2009 and followed the story, saved myself a lot of investigative time and have pulled back the trunk lining on the left side to find the brown wire is broken, all I have to do now is reconnect the two breaks and hopefully should have it fixed............... to the forum members..

Stuttgarten, sounds like they are making a poor connection, but what to do about it I am not sure as I don't know too much about LEDS other than they turn on and off.........sorry mate no ideas there.

Somethings, you just have to live with these uncertainties. I must have taken this thing apart no less than 3 times, and could not identify cause for short. I can only presume some of the soldering has a minor crack which could not see unless one had proper tools.
