Can 15" factory or steel wheels fit a W211 sedan?

I cannot find any information at places like TireRack or even here on the Forum to tell me if older Mercedes 15" wheels can fit on my 2003 E320 without interference with brakes or suspension. I am starting my search for winter tires & rims, and there are more options available for 15" wheels, but I don't know if they will work. A taller and narrower tire is already the plan for better traction in ice and snow...

Why would you do such un-justice with your car?

In winter, in northern climates, we really don't care too much how our cars look. We just want to be warm (and out of the ditches)! I just bought some 16" wheels, so it is no longer an issue. I just wanted to know if the smaller wheels would clear the brakes and calipers. And lastly as stated above, taller and skinnier tires on ice and snow put more pressure per square inch so better chance of traction!

But I guess you don't worry about the white stuff in West Palm Beach!
