Retrofit phone?
I have a 2006 e55, with all the steering controls for a phone, but the phone option is not actually installed.
Has anyone retrofitted a phone to a w211? (I have sds should I need it)

All '06's are pre-wired for the phone option.
But that only means that the wires and fiber optic cables are pre-wired. You still need the puck in the console, and then the telephone module in the trunk. Cellphoneguy, or something like that sells them on eBay. Easy install. Around $800.
Per Barry45rpm :"Call these guys for the most accurate info:

This is where the dealer gets the phones, mounts, and pucks.
The puck (or an MB sourced phone) slides into a permanently mounted holster (holster style depends on brand of MB phone or puck) in the console which slides into a plastic wall or floor mounted contact about the size of 3 quarters stacked. Using an MB puck will give you blue tooth of vaying degrees of compatability (such as phone book uploading automatically, manually, or not at all... caller ID & other functions) depending on which version of puck, and which cell phone you own."

Not ALL '06 are pre-wired - mine was not. I got a Mobridge kit from Midcity engineering that added an integrated bluetooth phone with the ability to stream music, and added a hard wired iPod. Everything can be controlled via steeringwheel/command and displayed on command and instrument cluster. I lost the CD changer and $900; neither of which I miss.

Thanks for the replies so far. For some reason I am extra dense about this.
So, best case scenario, all I need is a phone module (does anyone have a part number that would work?), and I need an UHI connector in my center console correct? (I'd like to solve this with OEM products). No need for a cradle, because I'll use a BT puck in it's place.

I looked into my '06 E350 after reading this post and found the connections in the attached pic - does that indicate pre-wired? The were located behind a panel by the info / help buttons.
