i think you should have gone with an 04 E. most of thier problems are fixed, and if you know so much about cars, you would of known first year models arent always the trouble free car.....

Correct, bmms8. I actually expected a few more glitches (only 1, fixed promptly the first week) in a new model. 11k miles, 14 months, doing very well.

yea, and mike had the chance to get an 04 at the same time, no wait period or anything at all.

You need to look at the number of problems that come up with hand built cars like Ferraris and the old Lambos stuff just did not fit right. Rolls Royce is different you pay an absurd premium for the hand built aspect and its worth it to those few individuals.

Hand built used to mean quality but today it means the exact opposite. Machine built cars provide better quality and fewer faults.

The BMW E28 and E34 M5

are handbuilt.

BMW M built those cars by hand, unlike the E39 M5 (99-03 M5) which is little different than a soda can.
