adding to factory system
I was just told by crutchfield that I can't upgrade my speakers or even add an amp and subwoofers in my 2006 Mercedes E350 Sedan (w/harman kardon) since its all fiber optics. The only way to add an aftermarket amp and sub woofer would to replace the headunit and wiring in the entire car. is this true!? I took my car into a shop last week to get a quote for some things and they didn't bring up this issue when I was looking at line drivers, ipod kits, amp, subs.
this cant be true as fiber does not go to the speakers themselves.
