e55 to e63 bumper conversion advice/help

I'm getting ready to do this. I read that there is some work involved in getting the parking sensors from the 55 to fit the 63 bumper. Can someone please kindly link me to a write up on this. Or some advice from someone who has already tackled this. Thanks.

there are several threads about this...
for replica bumper, u'll need body work to properly fit the PTS sensors...
for OE bumper, it's plug & play...

OE bumper is not plug and play either, as the parktronic sensors were changed in 2006 (hence the old ones do not fit)

oh dang.... didn't know that...
then, there's really no point of going with OE bumper then...
looks like many ppl don't have any fitment issues with Suvneer's bumper...

if i remember it right, the pt sensors snaps on from the back of the bumper, my guy had to cut the original bracket from new bumper and had to retrofit a new bracket to hold the old pt sensors. if that makes any sense.

MJ50 is correct, no point of buying OEM bumper.

Or you can buy E63 parking sensors and wiring harness. It gets expensive though.

If I had to do it over again, I would get the Suvneer bumper without the parking sensors. It looks cleaner and is cheaper. The sensors on our cars are basically useless anyway. The warning beep comes too late.

Wouldnt it throw errors if pt sensors arent connected? I know a few people buying replica bumpers with no pt sensor holes and just drilling holes then retrofitting a backet to hold em.

if we're talking after market. Suveneer or Fabtech?

Should i give up on the parking sensors? Ive read about people paying to have MbenzNL add the parktronic system to cars not equipped. Here in the US and abroad.

I read somewhere but can't find it again to double check something about removing the brackets from the 55 bumper and replacing the ones on the 63 bumper with the 55 brackets to mount the sensors?

suvneer... there are bunch of forum memebers with no issues...

if u already have PTS, then i wouldn't give it up...

PTS brackets from 55 bumper need to be cut and then glued onto 63 bumper...
