Lets Talk "Real" Performance Mods.....

I know there are blowers out there but how about performance mods such as LT or shorty headers, shorter gears (say 3.42 over the stock 3.07), performance torque converter (say 2800 stall), high flow cats, ported heads and more aggressive cam. I probably won't go to this extreme like I did on my Vette but would like to know if there are such upgrades.

The cheapest bang for a buck performance upgrade would be the E55. Only $20K more but you get unmatched performance with the security of an MB 4 year warranty.

Very true.....plus you get the added upgrade suspension, free flowing exhaust, AMG bodykit and quicker shifts. Heck...you can probably buy a smaller pulley for a few hundred dollars and add even more punch.

I saw that video of a 2003 E55 (stock) beating a modded Mustang Cobra which was pumping out I think over 500RWHP. The E55 beat him twice!

Yeah! And for me, I didn't have to watch the video to know that. I did it in my '03 W211 E55 awhile back.

LOL it's a common question people ask me.

The E320 is really going to be my fiancee's car. I drive a 540iA as a daily car. The E55 was my weekend car before but I wanted to give her the E320, so she doesn't really need 517 ft-lb of torque.

Now I am looking around for a less extreme "fun," weekend car...maybe a Lotus Elise, if the line is short enough to get one or an S2k.

No need to mod like that unless you actually go out and use the extra power. What you have now is fine for you :p
