Not Working - 09 E63 iPod Interface
I can't get my E63 to recognize my iPhone 4 with the factory iPod interface cable hooked in via the glove box connection. Anyone have any tips for fixing this issue? The iPod Connection and the Aux connection do not work, the car does not recognize the device. I have the same interface in my Q7 and it works just fine.

Need more info. If you have the ipod connection, the aux connection will not work. It's disconnected from the command unit. In order to get the ipod connection to work, you have to select aux from the radio. Was this done?
As for the android also working, can't see how it would work unless you can plug it into the ipod connection. As mentioned earlier, the aux connection in the glove box is disabled if you have an ipod connection cable. One option would be to take the command apart and disconnect the ipod cable and plug the aux cable back in or get a splitter connector that lets you plug in both at the same time. The other option which I did is to just get an ipod touch, 4th gen that still has the 30 pin connection.

Okay, Yeah... I have the ipod cord in the glovebox as well as an aux plug but it doesn't work for my android device. So you're saying that the aux plug is disabled by default and the only way to fix this is to disasseble the command unit?

The aux plug is unplugged when you have an ipod cable. There's only one connection on the back of the command unit. If you want the aux to work, you have to unplug the ipod connection and plug the aux connection back in. There's videos of it out there that you can find doing a search. With the aux connection, you have to control the music with the android device. With the ipod, you can go up and down your playlist with the steering wheel controls and it displays the song being played although it tends to lag. Plus you can just leave the ipod plugged in and the car will charge it if it's an older generation, the 4th gen ipod touch needed an adapter in order for it to charge as Apple changed the voltage. I picked up a 2nd gen ipod touch on cowboom for $25, but it was defective and I'm waiting for them to send me another one. They seem to range from $42 to $100 depending on the generation and the memory. The reason I use an ipod touch is that I use Spotify and I need something with wifi so I can just sync the playlist at home.

My car does not recognize my iPhone 4 attached to the glove box plug with the MB factory harness (dual iphone 30 pin /aux). It actually does charge my phone just fine.
I go through the radio and try to select the device but I get the device not supported message. My Q7 saw my phone right off the bat and played music.
