As for the android also working, can't see how it would work unless you can plug it into the ipod connection. As mentioned earlier, the aux connection in the glove box is disabled if you have an ipod connection cable. One option would be to take the command apart and disconnect the ipod cable and plug the aux cable back in or get a splitter connector that lets you plug in both at the same time. The other option which I did is to just get an ipod touch, 4th gen that still has the 30 pin connection.

I go through the radio and try to select the device but I get the device not supported message. My Q7 saw my phone right off the bat and played music.
