Red "reduced braking" message
I posted this on another forum. I meant to post it here.
I got the red stop sign in the center instrument cluster that says "Reduced braking power depress brake pedal fully". My car manufacture date was 10/2004. I'm sending the car to the shop tomorrow but if I am out of warranty for the SBC what's my next best option. Car has 67,800 miles. 2005 e320
I haven't even been home the last few months to drive the car as I have been away for work If this would have happened then. I might have still been covered

Out Of Control!!
Get a glass of grappa, calm down and think about what you said---"what's my next best option"---if in fact it is an issue with the SBC--you have two options--fix or no fix!
What scares me is your comment about---"sending the car to the shop" if ***** wonka does not have the diagnostic equipment, how will you know what is really faulty---that's more scary than driving the car as is!

Fix it right at MB open your wallet or park it are the only two options. IT IS possible for an independent shop to repair it but would be just a parts swap out and hope they got it right. The problem won't be at the wheels but at Mercedes greatest invention the fly by wire brake system. Just open the wallet. My guess is around $3000 but your guess may vary as past results are no guarantee for future repairs.
