Rain Sensor / Light Sensor seems deactivated
Installing the replacement rain/light sensor did not resolve the issue.
I then scheduled time at my local MB dealership to perform another service, and requested they program the rain/light sensor in the replacement OCP. They were unable to program it... even though they still charged me for labor.
I then searched eBay until I found an OCP that had the rain/light sensor cable still connected and ordered it.
Upon installation the rain/light sensor began working again.
rain sensor ok
light sensor ok
light sensor not active
day night switchover day
results with das tried to do a relearn for windshield but seems my tool cant perform the test
tried to fuse, used light sensor from ebay, still nothing, everything works perfectly on OCP as lights sunroof controls, so dont think thats the problem, checked all wires.... really stumped here.....

Here is sample from Ebay, https://www.ebay.com/itm/27476914032...3ABFBMnPfHh7ph

Both ends do not fit. No-go.
This looks more fitting as the thicker proximal cable end is chunkier and square: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/266433386546.
Same setup as this video, thx konigstiger:
The part isn't readily available in US which I find odd. Any US part supply sources you could provide would be most helpful. Happy holidays.

Also, the rain sensor itself shows up in the EPC under front lights (with the exterior headlamps), and not under the Electrical System/OCP section.
Sorry I have not seen the wiring listed yet

It is odd that this cable isn't available closer...that was my confusion. Asking around US Ebay sensor dealers brings no luck. They have the selfsame sensor offered here in the US though no one has the corresponding cable.
Now that's odd.
Where'd those cables go?
Anyhow, I've a pipedream of finding the cable in a close-by pick and pull. There is a junkyard nearby that had rotating stock of domestic and Asian cars and I frequent it for this and that. European auto graveyards aren't as frequent 'round here.
Any suggestions are helpful and thank you for all you've offered so far too.

It is available online from MB,
9091 Communication fault with component B38/2 (Rain/light sensor) changed to rain-light sensor no echo error code. Something changed. Advice? Thanks ahead of time.
I've rain/light sensor issues....an echo failure dtc below and always on headlights while in automatic switch selection and climate control LEDs that dim almost blank when driving into bright ambient light and brighten fully when entering dim ambient light. I've been to other threads here re: the dim display issues with no resolution yet.The sensor is sending data and the vehicle modules either doesn't respond or respond counter-intuitively.
I'm obviously missing something here...
Q: Does anyone here have a gracious suggestion?
There's a 9091 dtc for no communication with overhead control panel rain/light sensor sensor and a 9090 for no echo..no communication vs. no communication echo.
Huh?
I've swapped the overhead panel, rain/light sensor and wire with no change.
This above occurs when overhead control panel rain/light sensor is unplugged.
This above occurs when overhead panel rain/light sensor is plugged in.
There are different light sensors for different vehicle modules apparently.
Thanks for any replies.
