e350 with multiple short to ground codes
p2257 air pump short to ground
p0414 air pump switchover valve short to ground
p0057 heating component g3/5 left 02 short to ground
p0458 purge control valve short to ground
p0598 thermostat short to ground
p0448 charcoal canister short to ground
p2009 intake mani tumble flap short to ground
p0031 right o2 short to ground
p0051 left 02 short to ground
I already switched the entire engine wiring harness. checked all the obvious things..fuses, grounds, relays, fuse box connections, etc. I looked at every inch of both wiring harnesses new and old. I don't know what else to check. any help would be very appreciated
the back story basically is I bought the car with a bad motor. put a motor in with no issues. starts right up. drives decent just has these cel's. original ecm.
I am currently having the following error codes all at once.
P059800 The coolant thermostat has a short circuit to ground
P1D01111 The crankcase vent has a short circuit to ground
P240B00 Actuation of the heater in the diagnostic module of the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) control system has a short circuit to ground
P240B00 The output for the switchover valve in the diagnostic module of the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) control system has a short circuit to ground
P260211 The output for the coolant circulation pump has a short circuit to ground
P003100 The output for the heater of the oxygen sensor 1 (cylinder bank 1) has a short circuit to ground
P024511 The low pressure turbocharger output has a short circuit to ground
P045800 The purge valve of the Evaporative Emission (EVAP) control system has a short circuit to ground
P003400 The output for the switchover valve of the charge air bypass flap has a short circuit to ground.
What could be causing this and has anyone experienced something similar?
My mechanic wants to replace my ECU

Besides that list, which is long, did you get the current status for each code? Stored ? Current? or Stored and Current? Either the ECU is damaged, or there is a problem with the harness (cut and touching ground) between the ECU and the engine.
It is normal practice to delete ALL the codes, run the vehicle for a few minutes and rescan. Though most of those codes are static, I guess having the engine ON for a few minutes will be sufficient.

but replacing the ECU is a very expensive fix in my location. I just want to be sure the fault is from the ECU and not something else.

Diagnosis takes time, and discipline --> $$. Way too many short to grounds. Therefore, I will be concerned about what triggered the initial failure regardless if the ECU is damaged or not. Let say it is the ECU, but no clue why. The new ECU is installed and seconds, minutes or days later is shorted again. What then?
First, you need to know what EXACTLY caused the failure, fix it, and repair/replace the ECU. Not the other way around
