battery draining started in august. dealer indicated a faulty starter then but that did not help. then came a new battery followed by a new alternator in the fall. better over winter, but now car does not turn over at all. any ideas? 49,000 miles

Find a different dealer that knows what they are doing. This should be a easy fix for the dealer with all the Mercedes equipment they have.

HI.. I also have the battery drain problem with the consumer battery within 1 to 2 days on a 2005 Sl500. Replaced the battery and it went dead as well. Charged it overnight....next day same thing.... though I do remember, I did not reconnect in the proper order. I have 3 codes now showing up... 6230 ESP, 6210 ABS, and 5611 SBC Control unit... 2 more codes recently showed up as well... P20B7-008 (Increased idle speed due to SBC low voltage - check current and voltage on vehicle / No control module defective - P1999) ABD P20E2-008 Unauthorized Ambient Condition For SBC Request For idle speed Increase - P1999)

When I start the car, I get the normal convenience functions temporarily disabled until the trunk battery charges sufficiently.....

I've been dealing with this so long and have lost patience with it. Found a 2013 Sl550 with only 9K miles and bought it. I want to sell the 2005, but want to fix it. I don't want to sell it with this only existing issue.

Any ideas on where to start here?

Given circumstances “could” be the power supply control module, not cheap even used so note return policy if and when purchased. See attachment to understand system.

Using DAS, Xentry, etc. (MB diagnostics) you can readapt module and check for software upgrades: Control units - Body - BNS – Vehicle power supply module - Control unit adaptations - Control module programming.

Thanks for the quick response.... sounds as if my best choice is to take it to an MB dealer....something I was hoping to avoid... but seems the logical step now...

Mercedes Benz E320 drain battery in the morning

Good day
i noticed my Benz e320 drains battery in the morning. I have changed the rear and back SAMS bought new battery yet it still does same.
But when I jump start it or change battery it will not stop starting when ever after parking the car overnight.
What is likely to be the cause for this please

Check to see if any of the security features are on, like the parking/driving lights/side-markers.

I had to remove all of the bulbs, because they wouldn't turn off and kept draining my battery. It worked, but it's a temporary fix.

Now I need to buy a new auxiliary battery.

I know this is an old thread but I'm having the same lingering issue. This next comment will sound insane but it works (not my idea, i read on a forum somehwere a year ago). If we turn off the engine BEFORE opening the doors to get out, then the battery remains perfect. If any door is opened before the engine is off, the battery will drain overnight. I believe some of the cabin courtesy lights or panel lights stay on if the door opens too soon. Also if we forgot something in the car or need to open a door for any reason, we have to get in and close the door(s), start engine then kill it, then open door to exit.
