Dealers are replacing fuel tanks!!!

Hello, I just bought a 2004 e320 with 83K miles. when I went to test drive it the gas tank was half full. I bought the car and filled it up on the way home. woke up to fuel leaking from behind the drivers rear tire. did some research and found out about the warranty extension. I took my car in this morning and they are replacing the entire fuel tank assembly. MB of Long Beach.

Wow I go to that stealership as well. When you get a chance, can you ask them regarding the fuel tank leak recall and when do they going to start action. All MB dealers should get their memo regarding this recall by now.

It's not a recall its a 15 year unlimited mile warranty. When/if you have a problem then you'll get it fixed if it's related to what they've found as the faulty components.
