07 W211 Service Questions

Just had my 07 E350 in for a CEL (Twice).
First time they did the camshaft timing adjustment valve (272 050 04 78) and related parts.
Second time they did the Cam Magnets (272 051 01 77).
Guessing I really did not need the first (and more expensive) service and it was the magnets all along, but once done you are kind of stuck.

So while it was in they did their usual inspection and listed a bunch of stuff to be done.

1) ATF fluid flush and new fluid.
If it does not smell burnt, just how often should this be done (if at all)

2) "Carbon build up in fuel delivery system and combustion areas"
OK, I doubt they used a bore scope to check, and this is just a pitch as an intake cleaning.
How often is it needed and what is do people recommend (beyond adding a bottle of Tecron)?

3) Rear Axle Seal?
Sound like it is just damp, not dripping.
Worth doing or just top up and get to it when it drips?
How hard is this to do yourself? (any odd MB special tricks?)

4) Small engine oil leak "Replace centrifuge cover".
How hard? Any tips?

unless it's warranty/recall service, take it to reputable independent shop...

I do as much as I can myself.
The only reason I went to the dealer was because I had the same symptom last year and it was fixed under CPO warranty.
I was hoping it was the same problem so it would be fixed under the repair warranty (now that CPO is done).

So, if I am doing these myself, which am I asking for trouble with?
