CD / CD Changer Issue - HELP!
I tried to do a search, but didn't see anything relevant. (Car is a 2008 E350 w/ the 6 disc changer in dash)
I was headed to the gym today and tried to play a CD (radio was on). It gave me the please wait message. The CD wouldn't play...
I tried to switch to another CD, no dice. Then I tried to open the faceplate to eject the CD. Faceplate went up, wasn't able to shut it. It was stuck open. Only way it would go down is if I turned the car off and hit armed the alarm system.
Glad to just be able to close the faceplate after messing with it forever.
After I got out of the gym, tried to get the CD to play. Again, no dice. I tried to switch to another CD, again nothing. It sounds like the CD player is continuously cycling - trying to find / load a CD.
I switched to AUX and then radio... but the CD player is still cycling.
My concern is that this will just drain the battery overnight. I was thinking to disconnect the battery and see if that "resets" the CD changer OR maybe pulling the fuse.
Anyone have any insight? The vehicle only has 22k miles on it and this is the first time something like this has happened.
Thanks in advance!
I just checked and I was hoping it would stop cycling, but it is still going... I tried disconnecting the battery for some time, but that didn't work.
I disconnected it again and will leave it unplugged for a little while.
Anyone have any insight? I'm ready to tear out the CD changer. Last thing I need is a dead battery in the morning.
Pulled out the entire cd changer, disconnected 3 plugs, etc... put it all back together. Still having the same "cycling" issue. Now the audio system doesn't recognize the CDC, just the single CD and the radio options.
The only good news is that the CDC stops cycling after about 1 minute. So I should be okay from it draining my battery overnight. Every time you do anything, open a door, set the alarm, etc. it will start "cycling" again. It will continue to do this while the car is running.

I guess I can try another fuse, f26? Driver side dashboard for the CDC fuse.

I already have a trim / molding set, just wasn't sure in which direction to open the cover. I was playing with it some, but it didn't pop right off. I've broken too many tabs in my day...lol
Thanks again for the PDF diagram!

Without the fuse plugged in, the audio system wouldn't power on.
Anyone else have any input before I take it into the dealer????

The controls for the aux are accessed by pressing audio. Then you can select radio,cd,cdc or aux.
Not sure about the SD card question.
