Question Name of the "assisting" headlight of W211 facelift models?

Year 2007 facelift W211 MB models have two separate headlights:

Larger ones are the main headlights, but is there a specific name and reason for the smaller ones? Are those smaller headlights just a design feature?

You can not seriously be saying you have the ability to purchase a Mercedes and you don't know what high beams are.

It's all in the manual which you can download from Mercede's website. As previously stated, those are the high beams. They're there even if you have bi-xenon's as they're used for flashing, bi-xenon's take a while to warm up so wouldn't really work if you just want to use them to flash someone.
