Just got back from dealer
I just got back from the dealer (FJ) a few hours ago. I had taken the car in for the following:
Car pulled to the right as they all do
sunroof autoclose worked intermittently
The fixed the pull by adjusting the cambers but he told me that with 19" they cannot tighten them anymore without it rubbing so it can not be perfect. Its much better now, does anyone with 19s have this problem completely taken care of?
AND he didn't give me the BS about German roads being a certain way and the car naturally pulling to the right on purpose.
The sunroof was also fixed.
I also complained about the mpg I was getting and he says the 15-16 is normal. Which sucks.
The way I look at it a couple of things on this car ver grossly misrepresented:
The Fuel economy
The 0-60
But you know what, I still love the car. Especially now that it doesn't try to pull me off the road
If City it would be very good for most cars.
I get 23 to 25 mpg on the highway in my E-500. This is true both in my pre-nav (18,000) miles and my replacement (about 2500) miles. Average speed is 75 to 80 mph.
If that is highway MPG , I think something is wrong.
My CLK430 got about 24-26mpg on freeway driving and about 20mpg on city driving.
I've hit 26mpg on my E320 on 90% freeway driving.
...as a comparison, my ex W211 E55 saw about 8-10mpg city and 12-13mpg highway (calculated from an LA to SF trip).
15-16mpg on an E500? Is that city driving?

so I don't know what to think.
Its not even a 500. Although I gotta say i do drive like a bat out of hell most of the time. I guess I am used to the 29 mpg my C used to get and can't really compare.
And DUDE, is the E55 really that much of a guzzler? Do you have to pay the gas guzzler tax on that? I am close.
Anyone have 0-60 times for the 320? 500?
I had the alignment problem, but the dealer also applied the "fix" but now it pulls to the left
i also have low mpg with mostly city driving.

I don't have a good way of testing it the 0-60. Any suggestion? I am guess it feels more lik 7.5-8 than it does 7.
And btw, I really don't believe the 500 can do anywhere under 6 and you'd have a hard time convincing me. Maybe it just feels really slow when you're sitting inside.
My car is just kinda slow coming out of a stop. After it shifts from first it very fast, if I could only get over that 1st gear hump. The dealer thinks it normal.
arnee, just a quick Q, whyd you sell your E55?
E55 before plans of getting married (I only drove it on weekends)..... Now the E320 will actually be my fiancee's and I drive a 540i everyday. She doesn't need the extra 250hp and definitely not the extra expense.
