Right mirror turn light fault

The right turn lamp is faulty. I am thinking that it might be the cabling/grounding to it that is wrong, as I hear the sequence of the blinking is not steady. I would say that if the lamp is really broke, the blinking frequency would be constantly fast. But I am hearing the relay to sometime click at the correct frequency. Furthermore it is like the heater in the same side mirror is not working as good as the left one.

Could it be grounding issues?

Regards, Lars.

Anyone can guide me how to get access to the turn lamb? Do I need to disassemle the mirror in order to get to it from there?

Regards, Lars.

There is a lot of them for sure. But they are all different, and to be honest, I can't find that matches my E 220 CDI from 2007.

You have a specific link?

Regards, Lars.

Does your mirror fold?

It doesn't fold automatically. I have to bend it from outside. Your link guided me to what seems to be a lot of internal MB repair manuals. Nice, thanks.

But I think that maybe this (which I also got from your link) http://www.moressi.it/MERCEDES%20E%2...0indicator.htm is the wau to do it on my car.

I will try it tomorrow. Thanks again!

Regards, Lars.

To me, if you bend it in and it stays there by itself, it folds.

Earlier ones can be bent in, but they snap back into position. Those can be serviced by unclipping a catch. There is an excellent YouTube video on that.

The ones that fold seem to require you to remove the mirror glass-as shown by the link that I sent you before.

I hope this is not too confusing.

Well... it is, but thank you for trying to help (-;

Now I have taken some photos from the actual mirror (yeah, the car is dirty, I know)

This is from the front. There is some sort of plastic cap where it folds/bends:

The outer frame is attach to the rest of the frame here. In the bottom left corner the screw is easily accesed:

but from top right, it is not:

Do I need to unclip these (marked in the red circle):

And what about this clip? (Sorry for the bad quality - I had to enhance the dark inside)

Does this make sense?

Regards, Lars.

The pictures help. You have what I would call a folding mirror.

I think, based on the earlier links posted, you may need to remove the mirror glass to get at your turn light assembly.

Turn light changed... problem solved.

Now my blinker works again.

Mirror had to be pulled of from the top - very simple when you know it.

I actually damaged the electrical plug when reinserting the new light. This caused me a lot of problems as you can't buy the plug itself, but need to buy new motor which includes the cable. This costs equivalent to $600

I managed to solder new cables on. Seems to work pretty good.

Regards, Lars.
