brake disk Rotors SBC

I have read differing versions of SBC deactivation without SDS along with Rotor and brake pad replacement.
If a WIS could be posted would be great.
I would like to complete without error codes and having to clear and resets. If there is a Diy I did not locate thank you

I did see a similiar doc but was unsure if updates and procedures had changed.
I can use this doc thank you.
I am changing the brake fluid also and the sds doc was engaging for sure on this.

As soon as you open the car door, the car is going to wake up and SBC is going to pump the brakes. That's how people lose fingers doing this. Also happens when you put the fob somewhere safe and someone presses it, or it's in your pocket and something presses it when you move or bend (as I have had happen myriad times).

Even the official MB video on how to do this (which is a work of absurdist theatre by the way) talks about keeping that fob somewhere very secure.

Me, I think doing this is dangerous as hell given the possibility that someone will screw up and open the door or press the fob. Then again, I like my fingers a lot. And not getting brake fluid sprayed in my face.

I know that most people will accomplish this just fine if they use the proper procedure (and I'm not saying that what was said above is the proper procedure, because it varies from the official MB workshop video). But for the few who get snagged because they or someone else inadvertently do something to make the car wake up (and there are many ways to do it), the downside is just horrible and tragic.

Just remember that there are a number of machines available to Indys that don't have the Star Diagnosis menu, but do have the ability to deactivate the brakes. To me, it's worth letting them do it, and it shouldn't be expensive because the job on this car is pretty easy.

Do you have a link to the official mb video which you referenced?
Some have had success with a MityVac and drawing out from the calipers. ? ?

Pull the plug on the SBC unit while working on the brakes and plug it back in when finished. It's that easy.

Brake disk Rotor SBC

FYI all... several years ago I invested a tool through strategic tools:

http://www.strategictq.com/Images_Co...Catalog_NA.pdf

This was the perfect tool with no issues and money well spent. Good luck.

Sweet.

A series of good braking from what I understand is good to seat the disk and pad together ?

Pretty much. I always use Akebono Euro Ceramic pads. Zero dust, whisper quiet, and almost non-existent rotor wear.

Akebono I have not installed on any vehicle to date and I am dealing with a carboned up rims from the flying dust

I use lacquer thinner to take it.

I cant see why a oem brake pad on the front and ceramic brake pad on the back wheels would have any negative effect.

I purchased the Mercedes SBC Tool, item #30369400 in 2008 @ my first brake service for $300. The new version appear to include wider vehicle coverage.

So you can have your brakes done at a reasonable price at Pep Boys, which offers an Akebono Ultra Ceramic brake package. I see a lot of MB, BMW, Audi, etc. being worked on at my local Pep Boys, and that package may be one reason.

In my market this Co does not exist , with the aftermarket tools available specializing is common
