esp problems??

what can go wrong with the esp, i got a w211 220cdi, 2008
and its something making grinding noise in the rear of the car when its cold, and the car vibrates a little also.but it gets better when its warm,
when i have the rear wheel jacked i can hear and feel knocking sounds,i feel them in the rear arms, that go to the wheels, the knock is stronger near the wheels, and weaker near the differensial

so i am thinking it can be something wrong with the esp or abs
cause when i remove the brake calipter, the knock is gone

If you truly think something is wrong with the ESP/ABS you need to get it diagnosed with a star computer.
From your description (maybe I am reading wrong) it sounds more like a bushing, wheel/lug nuts, parking break issue.
Have you checked everything on the rear of the car?
How long since last brake job? All new OEM parts?
Aftermarket wheels?

Thanks for reply, i have tryed different wheel lugs, and the vibration/knock/grinding noise is still there, i have also tryed different wheels, and the problem is still there.i have mount new brake shoes to the parking brake, this is the new parts i have mounted

Parking brake shoes "both sides"
rear brake disc "both sides"
rear brake pads "both sides"
front brake disc "both sides"
front brake pads "both sides"
Driveshaft bearing&support
Rear
Track control arm
"both sides"
flex disc
front Lower Control Arm with new oem bushings "both sides"
front lower control thrust arm with ball joint "both sides"
front lower ball joint "both sides"

And the problem is still there, it seems to get worse now, i was driving today, and i can feel the vibration and the car goes a like i am on and on the throttle.all parts is oem.
i could feel that the rear brake disc was a little warm after i had my last test run, but i think that is normal?

i can see some small cracks in the rear subframe mounting, can this be the reason?
i will also try change the lock up solenoid in the gearbox,i do all the work myself, so i dont need to think about the labor.i dont have the money to go take a star diagnose.

i had the car on a jack, and the rear right wheel jumped when i pressed the throttle, and when i removed the brake calipter, the jump was not there.see link

I cant feel any lose/slak/wobble in the rear wheel"bearings"

i hope someone can say something about this.cause like i said, its getting worse, and it also feels like it gears to the wrong gear, like to high gear.like 3th, when it should be 2th.

Lars

Was the car in dyno mode when you were ruining it with the rear wheels in the air? If not it needs to be as the car will freak out which would cause your rear warm brakes. You could try test again in dyno and check brake temps using an IR thermometer.

Cracks in rear sub frame have pictures?

You really need to get the car scanned as it will be next to impossible to get the car fixed without throwing parts at it. Most dealers charge around 1 hour of labor or you could try an indy with an aftermarket diagnostic system that supports can networks. If you can't afford that sell the car now as you have no business owning a Mercedes not trying to be mean or anything its just how it is.

If you have money to buy all these "OEM" parts why is star too expensive? Put your car in dyno mode, prove it visually with your video recorder and then post a video of your rear wheels in motion! There is some communication disconnect as we are all trying to decipher what you are meaning/saying.

Thanks for reply, i will get the car scanned, but i will upload a picture of the cracks in the subframe bushing first.i can be them!!

About the money on the oem parts, i have a dealer i my town that owes me money, and they give me free parts, cause i did some work for them some time ago.and i am sorry for my bad English.

I cant sell the car, cause i love mercedes, and i cant go back to the w210 or the w124.and i cant have another car either, cause i dont like them.i live in Northern Norway, and i need to drive mercedes cause all our roads sucks, and in the winter mercedes rules, "if you know how to drive them".
all other cars fall in parts here cause of the roads.

Another problem is that i live far away from the nearest workshop, and i dont have neigbours, and i lost my driving license, and i will not get it back before august.but i will try get the car on the workshop, just need to try check the subframe bushings.the car was not in dyno mode when i made that recording, i will se today what i can do,with the dyno mode.
And again, thanks for reply, and i will try get better in English

Regards:Lars

You aren't at fault for your English, no worries. It's not your first language. However snap a pic of these bushings on the rear subframe you speak of, I'm interested.

try it in dyno mode and see if it goes away. You could also zip that bolt out of that arm and let it just hang there withno load and see if the noise goes away.

I bet you have a bushing somewhere that is bad if not the one with the arrow another one. Any way to get us a clip of the noise that you hear?
Rear diff been serviced along with transmission? 50k miles on diff and 39k miles on transmission is highly recommended.
Also how many miles are on car?
