211 CDI vs 210 E55

I'm looking for a newer DD. I have a buddy that has an 05 CDI with a tune and it runs really strong while getting good mileage. My company pays for fuel so gas mileage is irrelevant, but I do like the diesel for longevity and torque.

For less money I can get a 210 E55. I like those cars too, so I'm kicking around that option too.

I'm looking for some input with regards to pros and cons of each.

Go for the CDI--easy to maintain, just get a good scan before you purchase, especially the SBC system---screw the gassers---loads of issues, but do yourself a huge favor---do your own homework, that reduces loads of after purchase whining!!

I have the CDI. A tune is a good start. New intercooler, injectors, and exhaust will net you more power.

Any mileage change with those mods? What can I expect to spend on those mods?
