i would have a hard time choosing between an e500 and a clk55. they are about the same price. the clk has the same chasis as the c class and that is the reason i wouldnt wanna get the clk500 over the e500. but the clk55 definately has potential. i wish they made the supercharged version!

2004 CLK 320 Coupe
Try asking this question on the CLK(W209) board.
Personally I think coupe vs. sedan is the essential difference.
The only thing I don't like about E is that there are simply too many of them here in S.F. --- same reason I didn't get a BMW 3.
I chose CLK over E because of one thing: I'm single and I don't need the backseats.
Hope this helps.

Yeah I'm single too but I have alot of friends and sometimes we pile in together and a coupe is a pain in the a** when it's time to go out. And may have kids in a few years (will keep benz for four years). Does anybody know if you can play DVD's in the COMMAND and and easy way to hook up TVs in the headrests. Thanks.

btw, the rear leg room in the E isnt anything great, if anything its kind of cramped, it feels much more cramped than our 02 camry, but maybe its just us.

Personally, I think the E500 looks sportier than the CLK, especially with the AMG body kit.
Even the CLK55 is a waste of money to me. Might as well pay a few thousand more and get a real bump in horsepower, like on the E55.

I think both are great cars but if you are young, I would pick the Clk500. The clk doesnt have a b-pillar and when all the windows are down the car looks very unique and already I seen a lot of drop jaws because of this feature.
Also I see so many E320s and E500s on the road every day, even though its a fairly new design. But I wont see another new Clk, sometimes for days and I live in NYC.
