Dynamic Seat Settings

It may well be sign of aging, but I find the seats to be too firm for comfort. I start getting minor back ache after riding for about an hour. I've found there are two settings for the Drive Dynamic seats: Level 1 and Level 2. There was some discussion in the last few days about these two levels. I couldn't find anywhere in the manual about the difference between the two levels. I couldn't tell any difference in comfort between these two settings. Can any one enlighten???

Also, is there a way to permanently enable the Dynamic Seat option for front passenger. It seems only the driver side seat stays activated. The front passenger has to activate it manual each time you restart the car.

Drive Dynamic doesn't effect comfort levels in the seats. It only controls the severity of the inflation rate on the bolsters while turning.

I fear I might be the cause of confusion here.

Page 157 of my manual merely states: Level 1 for a comfortable seat setting

Level 2 for a sporty, dynamic seat setting.

This is a word for word extract from the manual, but I bow to more knowledgable folks on this forum (please do NOT think I am being cheeky)

They are nice seats which are usually extremely comfortable.

Regards,
John

No confusion...only that your manual better describes the dynamic seat functions than our American manaul (see page 153). Our manual shows how to set level 1 or 2, but does not go into detail explaing the difference between the two leves as does your manaul.

I wonder what else is missing from our American manuals

I'm glad I did not cause too much confusion. Rumour has it that in American Manuals they have even put the steeering wheel on the wrong side.

John

What's the confusion? The only thing DD does is harden the bolster opposite the way your car turns, if you are going straight, it doesn't do anything thus it doesn't effect "comfort" for the seat.

That sounds like a quote from a very abridged manual

I'm very glad to have read this thread. Although I've read through most of the manuals, I never focused in on the different levels of the seats. Last night, I cleaned the inside of the car and put in the new rubber mb mats, and must have hit the active seats switch. I thought that there seemed to be less inflation in the seats today, and was wondering if I had some kind of leak going on. Thanks for the input!
