How do you disassemble door cards?

How do you disassemble door cards?
How do you disassemble door cards/trim? When I took it off and took off the padding on the rear of them, everything seems to be held together by plastic welding, in other words, it doesn't seem to be possible to replace say the handle/arm rest or the leather piece above that or the storage box next to the speakers.

Does anyone have info on this? Seems like a pretty stupid way of putting it together?
