Popping sound at stop?
This problem isn't too annoying, but I have noticed that after I brake and come to a stop, that a faint popping/clicking sound comes from the back, almost like it is in the trunk or underneath the rear of the car. I can at least only hear it after I have stopped, and it doesn't happen all the time, nor does it last for long. Anyone have this same problem?

Could you be hearing the air suspension system doing whatever it automatically does? Sometimes I hear a faint pop/tick/click sound, not particularly location-specific, when my '03 E500 is idling with the audio down or off. It sounds the same as the little noises I hear when I tell the air suspension to raise or lower (as, when I'm parked at a high curb and need a little more ground clearance to open the door).

PoPPing sound from the rear
I do experience a POP sound from the rear of the car infrequently. I do have active dynamic seats and in the rear left side near the tail light there is a blader tank for the drive dyamic which may explain the POP sound, but have not verified. I have a sceduled appointment next week! will post reply
