Battery changing help..

I'm replacing the main battery (trunk) my W211. I've read from:

https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ment-both.html

specifically:

Start the car. Display will say ESP unavailable, go to owners manual. Useless that is because only here did I find the right info. Turn the steering wheel lock to lock. ESP cleared. Set the clock. Re sync the windows - that's simple. Pull all of the windows buttons full up until the windows close and continue holding full up for another second or two. I did this fronts, then backs. Re sync the moon roof, similar to front seat, with the window closed push the button to raise the pop up roof and hold it for a second or two after the pop up stops raising.
So my questions are:

1. What does "turning the wheel lock to lock" mean? And will this in fact clear the ESP error?
2. Should the windows be down when I change the battery? When reading the above quote, it says "Pull all of the windows buttons full up until the windows close ".
3. Is there anything else I need to do besides what's mentioned above?

Thanks..

Turning wheel lock to lock normalizes your steering column module.

Make sure your key isn't inside your car when changing your batter.

Normalize your windows/sunroof and re-set your clock.

Make sure you attach you'r clear hose to your positive side port.

Plug the negative side port with the plug on your red terminal cover.

Just a follow up...

Battery changed over the weekend. Only thing I had to reset was the windows and clock. No other warnings.

Also, before the battery change, I was getting the "consumers electronics turned off" message. With the new battery, no more warning
