SOS teleaid alert in dash
when i start my car, i get an alert in the dash that says: SOS teleaid expires soon i for more info...
when i press i, it tries to connect, but nothing happens. when i press SOS it connects, then says i am not subscribed...
Have any of you seen this warning before or know how to get rid of it?? (I am not subscribed to teleaid) Also, can anyone say what is the difference between teleaid and SOS??

The SOS button is part of the teleaid service but is reserved for emergency situations. Here's an overview of the 3 buttons:
"The SOS Button: Your Lifeline
One push of the SOS button connects you with a Mercedes-Benz Emergency Response Specialist who will summon help to your precise location, pinpointed by satellite, and stay on the line until help arrives. If an air bag or seat belt Emergency Tensioning Retractor deploys, Tele Aid activates automatically and an Emergency Response Specialist calls you. If you're unable to respond, emergency personnel are summoned to your location.
The Wrench Button: When You Need a Hand
The wrench button connects you to a Roadside Assistance Specialist who will know where you are and what model you're driving, even before you say a word. Help is on the way.
The i Button: When You Need to Know
Got a burning question about your new Mercedes-Benz? The i button connects you to a Customer Assistance Center Representative, available to answer any questions you may have, from how to set the buttons on your radio to the compression ratio of your engine. If you're lost, they can even give you verbal directions to your destination."
Basically, you have to have a teleaid subscription for any of them to work unlike a cellular phone where the FCC mandates that it be able to dial 911 even if the phone is not activated with any service.

I assume you bought your E last Feb / Mar timeframe?
I received the same message on my dashboard a week or two ago. You should have received a letter in the mail from Mercedes notifying you that the Teleaid service will be ending and Mercedes will automatically renew it and charge your credit card (you probably gave your card no. to the dealer during the car buying paperwork) unless you tell them otherwise.
For myself, I went ahead with the renewal and let them charge me.

If you choose not to renew your Tele Aid subscription, the message you're seeing will display for about a month after your subscription expires. It will then be replaced with a message that says: SOS Tele Aid Not Activated. Both messages will display for about ten seconds and then go away. This is normal. Just ignore the messages.

P.S. If you bought your car used and did not subscribe to Tele Aid at the time of purchase, Tele Aid's records would still show a subscription until one year from the purchase date by the original owner.
FYI
