Rear sunshade
He is one for the gurus on here. 06 e320 cdi with rear sunshade. The sunshade does not move. I removed said shade from the car( surprising not as bad as I read) and tested it with a battery. The shade worked fine up and down. Checked the fuses that I could find that the shade was on and they were fine. I proceeded to order a replacement switch assembly. I swapped out the entire assembly but still didnt work. When I press the button there is no sound at all. Anyone have any ideas. There is a plug in the assembly that is not plugged in but there is no other wiring harness for it to go so I assume it is there for a potential option. sorta stumped here.

Hi Plutoe, No I was unaware of this relay. What is the "sam"? This has to be the issue because I can't imagine what else it could be. Can you help me out in locating this relay? Is it on the map that comes in the fusebox? Is it numbered? Thanks bud

Okay, which relay is it? I found a diagram list of these relays however none of them list/call any of those relays shade relay.

I give up, I guess I just won't have a rear shade. I can't find any mention of a sunshade relay. The only thing I can find is the fuses. Ugg! Thanks for the help guys.

Mine is flaky sometime too. I think you really need a Star system to figure out exactly what is going on, but I've noticed that if I normalize things by opening/closing the sunroof and holding it down for a bit and the same with all the windows, it will start working again.

I can't believe people actually use the rear sunshade-to each their own. That thing creeps me out. Haven't used mine once since I bought my 211-no interest on finding out if it works or not hahaha

I use mine when I park at work. The afternoon sun burns down on the rear of the car, so the shade helps keep the (black) interior just a bit less toasty when I come out to go home.

Understood. My fix to keeping things less toasty-window tint. No moving parts just BAMMM there-constant at all time hahaha
