Keyless Go

My 320 doesn't have it. However, in my line of work it'd be a HUGE help to not have to dig out the key fob out of my pocket all the time.

Anyone know if I can add this to mine by just installing the parts? Is it plug & play or does it need to be coded to the car?

I suspect there's a new ignition switch module as well as the shifter knob but really have no idea what is involved or if it's even possible.

Still haven't gotten it back from the Indie shop yet either and haven't decided if I'm going to keep or not. If I do this may be the first major mod to it.

So, guru's, can it be done? If so what do I need?

I was thinking how simple it could be. But apparently not. So much for that idea.

The only simple way would be to sell your car and find another one that has it. It's not a very common option item out there. Price wise there isn't much difference between a model that has it and one that doesn't. Pricing seems to be based more on mileage and the color, if you punch the specs of a car into nadaguide, they don't even have a check box for whether it has keyless go or not, just the sports package or navigation. So I would just use a vin decoder to find one that had it or just see if the pictures they post include a shot of the shifter and if it has the keyless go button on it or not. In the later years, the packaged it with the Bixenon headlamps and called it the P2 package so if you found one, you also got the other. Only drawback with keyless go is that the door handles tend to die and you had to buy new door handles at around $200+ each to get it fixed. It's a nice feature though and one of the best things I like about the car.

Interesting, but as expected, no mention of Mercedes.
