Tire Pressure Monitoring System

The Carfax report for my car says that my car had its tire pressure monitoring system sending unit serviced at some point so I was under the impression my car had this system installed but I can't seem to call it up on the steering wheel menu controls.

Is there another way to see if I have the system and that it works?
I might be doing something wrong but I'm not sure.

Thanks
Eric

What's the VIN? It should be listed as an option code. It may not have it, who knows what the techs put in when doing service. Saw a VMI once for a 2008 for SBC brake service when a 2008 doesn't have SBC.

I think in 2008 all US sold car had TPMS mandatory but being break-thru technology was not appreciated by mechanics.
You can always buy add-on sensors that will go on the outside of the valve.

With all due respect Plutoe, I would think it'd be easier to look up the VIN than to reduce the tire pressure just to see if you have a warning and then put air back in.

I like this one now, better than the russian site as it's in English and faster than epcnet:

Well a vin check shows I do not have the TPMS.

I wonder what they serviced way back when.

Thanks

Beginning in model year 2006, by virtue of federal law, tpms became mandatory on all automobiles sold in the US.

Look at your air valve stems on the tires. Are they a simple rubber/metal, round stem? TPMS equipped vehicles have a thicker stem with a hex base
