Non-aggressive lowering?

Hello,

I have a 2008 E350 Sport. I have interest in lowering it, but I'm not into the slammed look. I RESPECT the slammed look, I just don't prefer it. Most of the springs I read and see on this forum give over 1" lowering, any ideas of what options I have for lowering the car 1/2" to 1" max? Spring cutting?

Any feedback or ideas are greatly appreciated.

Here she is for now (minus 10mm rear spacers, and 5mm front that I added recently)

I'm just curious why you want it lowered if not for looks. From an engineering perspective, I think the disadvantages greatly outweigh the advantages which is why the factory doesn't do it. However these days, looks triumphs over engineering. Disadvantages off hand would be harsher ride, greater tire wear (good luck on the alignment) more likely to pop a tire, easier to scrape the bottom of the car, greater expense, etc. Handling and response is supposed to be slightly better though. Not sure those are worth it aside from the looks part.

I apologize I did not clarify, the 1" lowering is wanted for looks. I understand some of those issues, and I still keep them in mind in deciding whether to lower it.

I just do not prefer the look of slammed-lowering, I just like the top of the tire still slightly visible.

I'm picky.
