Hi All!

Just wondering if anybody who has the electric trunk closer option on their E can tell me if it makes a loud buzzing noise for the first second or so just after you press the red button to shut the trunk.

Mine does! IMHO its not the kind of sound I expect to hear from anything on a Mercedes. Its so loud that I cringe as I press the button to close the trunk. My dealer tells me its 'normal' even though they agree its loud!!

Any comments gratefully received

No, that is not normal. Have your dealer look at it.

If he is so sure it is 'normal' ask to sit in another E-class and compare.

Mine makes a noise, and sometimes you have to press it twice to make it go down. But it may be just a safety feature. I love my trunk closer, I've even tried to get it to cut my arm off but the safety feature keeps it from doing so.

Highly recommend it.

Thanks for the input guy's. I guess I'm going to have to try to find another E at my dealer with the elec trunk closer option and test it out!
