Boot not opening with Key or Remote

Hi all,

HELP !

I cannot seem to open my boot with either the key, internal driver release latch or the remote. All other doors work ok, just the boot not opening at all.

This is my first time on this forum and I have read through previous posts and seen great information on what the possible causes are but they all assume I can gain access to the boot/truck, which I cannot.

I have also come across:
1. The cut wires fix, around the hinges internal to the boot, but that is when you have access to the boot.
2. The fuse reset option to fuses in the fuse box by the drivers side, but not sure which fuses in particular are to be reset (see image - any ideas)
3. The PSE pump option but I am not sure where this put is located and when I took out my rear seat and lifted the foam padding, I only saw metal panels.
4. Something else (not on this forum) about the removing the rear number plate panel and gaining access to the lock cable and pulling it etc, but the instructions on to this this are not clear

Has anyone come across this and any ideas on what I can or should actually do?

Between W210 and W211 MB switched from air-operated locks to electric-operated locks, so you might not have PSE pump. I do have it for dynamic seats, but that is different story.
What you mean by release latch? Are you getting to the lock from behind with folding seats?
If the mechanical latch is not working, check if the tumbler is not turned into permanent lock, other than that you need to remove panels and see what is damaged. That would be top-end DIY so you better be handy.

By release latch, I mean the button within the car by driver seat, that you press to open the boot. The car doors not have folding seats, so cannot get to the boot or lock through this route.

This issue happened after I had just opened the boot and 5mins later wanted to open it again and nothing worked. There is no click or sound indicating any action to the lock and the lock lever appears to be moving freely.

I am a handy DIY person, so looking for a solution and you seem to be suggesting that I go for removing the rear number plate panel and gaining access to the lock cable and pulling it etc, Any instructions on to this?

Once again-check if by accident you did not turn tumbler into permanent lock.
I have wagon, so can't recheck it, but by pulling key out in 1 position you will enable remote locks and by turning it 90 degrees and then pulling you will make permanent (secure) lock.
Other than that sounds like you might clip something in locking mechanism.
Sometimes applying some pressure on the boot and then turning the lock helps.

Did you read the instructions on how to open the trunk? You have to turn the key one way and leave it there and then lift up on the handle to open it. Most mistakes are people turning the key one way and then turning it back to center before trying the handle and then it doesn't open.
