AMG body kit
Hi my mom just bought a 04 e500 "told her to get a e55 but my dad told its too fast and its a race car
" i like the way e55s look and was wondering if any one sells them they have it on a e500 on mbusa.com

Interesting you post that pic. I really liked that photo as well. Acccording to my dealer that pic is a E 500 with the AMG Package. If memory serves me it is around $5,000. However this package is hard to come by. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Correct.... If you do the math, a well equipted e500 with this (Factory delayed) amg package will run you well over 70K... Might as well put up a few extra $$$ and get the real thing...E55.

I am trying to do the math myself. If all goes well and I get MBUSA to buy back my lemon CLK 500 and make a good settlement I am interested in the E 500 with AMG package. While it is only a few thousand more for an E55, I am worried about insurence. Those of you that just bought your E's what are you paying for the 500 & 55? Which model are dealers more willing to "deal" on?

I never actually priced the insurance for the e55 since I'm getting the e500, but I would imagine it would be mainly based on prior driving record, age and zip code.... Did I say zip code??? Yup, at least here in califorinia they base prices on which zipcode your in....

My point exactly... I know I could go on MBUSA.com but guessing... if I want the E 500 with lighting, sport/appearence, DVD NAV, Parktronic & KeylessGo how much more would the E55 be?

Does the $5000 package include the wheels? If so that is half the UK price.
Hmm I wonder if it could be retro fitted, and how much would te shipping charges be???
I was just building a fully loaded E500 on the MBUSA site and 'if only' they would sell a RHD model, it would be a fantastic saving on the UK price. (at present the exchange rate is approximately $1.89 to the £1)
I do come up with some crazy ideas at times.

Supracrazy, you only need the Front and Rear Bumper, right? Just saw one this morning. It's available everywhere. Don't do at the MB dealers, the labor fee is ridiculous high.
No performance parts because your dad will never let you to do so. Plus, your mom is the primary driver, right? It will be hard for her to handle a monster. Spend $ on your own car.

Could one of you fine people clarify the last post? If I already have the Sport/Appearance (whatever its called now) and want the look of the car in the original post, is the only thing I need the front and rear bumpers? This would be great so I don’t feel like I'm wasting AS much money by replacing the side skirts as well. Thanks!

SO where can i order them from a Mb dealer? and i do try to hook up my car but my dad says its already fast enough a tells me that i am poluting the enviroment and killing trees (straight pipes) he treatend to take my car away so i returned to stock form.

Anyone knows any local/online store where I can buy AMG Body Kit? I just need front and rear bumper too. I don't really care if it is genuine AMG or replica. As long as they look the same, I will be okay with them + it will save me some $$$.

Supracrazy, I knew it because my dad did the same thing to me. Wait a couple of years and buy a car with your own $, by then, you can do ANYTHING you want.
Ipolo, I do NOT recommend to use the replica kit (plus I don't personally know anyone is making it). You think probably you can save about $500-$600, but end up paying very close to the real kit because you will spend A LOT in the body shop trying to put the replica kit on. It is also very time consuming that your car maybe in the body shop for weeks. I think some users in this forum (also my customers) tried the replica kits on and had very BAD experience. Don't wanna see another victom.

The price is attractive on this fiberglass replica but I am not sure about the quality (I only saw the replica kit on W210 before).
Ipolo, if you buy this kit, please let me know how the quality is and how much the body shop charges to modify, paint and install it, and how long it will take to do the job. Just for my referrence. Thanks.
