Audio/Electronic troubles - need advice
I haven't posted in a while but realized I should consult this board first as you all likely know a lot more than my dealer will...
I have an '03 E320 that was delivered in 10/02.
2 probems. First, my audio locks up from time to time. Nothing with static or excessive heat. Sometimes, and ONLY right when I start the car, I press the power switch and all I get is the MB logo and nothing else works and no sound. The only thing that fixes it is to pull over and restart the car. I think I sometimes have to lock and unlock the doors as well but can't be sure.
Today, for the first time, I was listening to FM radio and all of a sudden it went silent. I thought it was the radio station but looked down and saw an error message on the RADIO display which said something like "can't find audio signal" or something to that effect. I switched to CD and got nothing with the display quickly reverting back to the same message. Power off didn't work. About 2 or 3 minutes later, it just came back on its own and worked fine the rest of my commute. Do I need some type of software update? If so, what? Definately NOT a problem requiring a fan as the car is never hot with this problem.
Second problem is something I read about over a year ago but haven't seen lately. Every now and then (unfortunately more now than then!) I'll get malfunction displays and warning lights for BOTH SOS-Teleaid and SRS systems saying I need to visit the dealer immediately. The problem always clears after a restart but is a bit unnerving. I don't subscribe to SOS but the SRS is pretty important and I really have no idea if this is a problem with a faulty indication or if the system really goes out from time to time.
All insights and advice appreciated.

Sounds as though the audio / gateway software need to be upgraded.

Time to schedule a service visit?
Not sure about SRS but had Tele-aid error once in the past 4 months. Did not bother to investigate.
Software update fixed the occasional static.
