stupid reg question

i have e 500= 2003= dealer is giving me 2004 NO OUT OF POCKET to dmv or dealer

I just paid like $100 for 2 yr reg in NY- delaer is in NJ i am in NY

He is telling me I must apply and pay again for new plates - cant transfer- My Insurance agent is saying its a ploy so they make a few $$
to ne hoenest i think im superbly licking out and hate to quibble over a few dollars but does anyone know the truth?

I don not believe that NJ dealers can do NY DMV transfers. Why not ask the NYS DMV

i don't quite understand the situation...you are getting a replacement car for a lemon law type of thing, or did you trade the car in?? Regardless, if you paid to register a car and they can't transfer the plates to your new one, you should inform them that you sold, or returned the car, and the dmv should give you the balance of your registration payment when you return the plates...good luck w/everthing
