M113 Lifter Replacement - need help

My m113 engine has had a ticking noise for a while. I finally decided to fix it, I opened the valve cover, found the bad lifter and was able to get the rocker assembly out. I have been trying to get the lifter out but can't figure out how. I don't want to break anything so I stopped for the night and figured I would ask here. Anyone know the secret to get the lifter out of the rocker?

im in the same boat as you, did you fogured it out?, how do you removed the rocker arm without mess up the timing? It is possible just to remove the lifter without removing the rocker arm?

Yes you have to remove the rocker arms. To remove the rocker arms I followed this guide but left the cams in place. You need the tool to keep the timing correct, and by using zip ties you make sure that none of the gears can skip.

To get the bad lifter out I used a small nail and a hammer. On the top of the rockers you will see a small hole where you can put the nail through and then gently tap with a hammer. I flattened the point on the nail to reduce the risk of damaging anything. Don't know if this is the proper way but it worked for me.

Also you might want to look into why your lifter collapsed. The oil flows through the rocker arm so if the path is blocked swapping the lifter won't help, the new one will just collapse again.
