COMAND Buttons Not Working

New member in Alabama, so I apologize if I'm missing anything as far as forum protocol. I have a 2008 E350 4Matic with just over 101,000 miles. Suddenly, none of the COMAND control buttons work - can't turn radio off, can't switch to satellite, can't mute, can't use arrow keys, etc. Radio works fine (although I can't move it off FM, and can only change channels on the steering wheel), and Bluetooth works fine for phone calls. It's just that the buttons are totally non-responsive.

I've pulled and replaced all the fuses that seem to have anything to do with this, separately and in combination. The dealership has no clue. For what it's worth, this first appeared after I took the car to my regular independent garage for routine service, but they swear there's nothing they could have done to cause this.

If anyone has any ideas, I'd be most appreciative.

I would disconnect main battery, negative terminal only, for about a couple of minutes and see what happens, that might reset things. However, once power is restored, you will have to reset your windows and sunroof to activate the express-close feature by keeping your finger down on each window button for 3 seconds, that is after reaching closing position.

If a fuse was bad, you wouldn't be getting partial operation. Possibly someone who has had a similar experience could pitch in.

2002 E320 Wagon
Similar issue...

I'm about to buy a 2007 E350 wagon with very low miles. It seems like the COMAND buttons don't all work. Some do but not all.
I'm wondering if disconnecting the battery got yours back and functioning?
I do not want to spend a fortune on a 9 year old wagon to fix the electronics, but I would love to have this working as designed.
Any update is helpful.
Thanks!

No. I ended up replacing the COMAND unit. But nothing on mine was working, so you may have a different problem. Good luck.

Tobin all buttons on Command may not be "enabled" so they may not work. Which buttons are your concern?
