Yeah, I agree with Kushp14. $3K is nothing on that car. If possible, run away. Check the laws in your state. If the car doesn't run this soon after you bought it, maybe you can get out.

You really, really, really need to take the car to a Dealer and have them give you a list of problems. Then you can A) decide to keep the car and work through the list yourself, with an Indy and/or with the dealer. Or B) sell the car for a loss and learn the lesson of why you MUST get a PPI.

You quite possibly have bought a car that someone never did the maintenance on and it is falling apart right before your eyes.

I second this recommendation. If nothing else they'll be able to give you a more comprehensive list of problems with estimates on repair. Most dealers will charge about a $150 for this, well worth it in this case.

I replaced the CPS by a recommendation from here.
Cost: $150.

I do want to get the DX done, and may have it done tomorrow.
Does it have to be mercedes? A local shop told me they have a very expensive computer that will allow them to do the same thing, for less money.
I can call merc tomorrow and get pricing.

Treat it like a 273 engine. Return the crank sensor, you didn't need it. Verify fuel pressure and verify engine timing. Those are my two recommendations on priority focus points right now.

Common 273 engine issues that may cause your symptoms

• Fuel Pump
• The Four Cam Adjuster Magnets
• Incorrect Engine Timing

My initial advice was to go to the dealer and find out everything that is wrong with your car. I mentioned the CPS as it seemed likely. I had no idea that you'd just go and do that first without finding out all of what is wrong. I will refrain from offering further advice that involves replacing things until you've been able to get a real handle on what you're up against.
I would pay extra and go to a dealer. I have the system that they have and there are significant advantages to having it. Some dealers do take advantage of you and it is more expensive... I get that. FCPEuro is offering very good advice as well.

Let me say this another way. Forget the immediate problem you have with the car now. You need to know all of the problems you have or will likely have soon. A PPI would have told you that. I did a PPI on the C320 I bought last year and it recommend $3800 worth of work to be done. I knew I could handle that work myself so I bought the car. Had it been something different I would have passed. Take the car to a dealer and tell them you'd like to start having the car serviced there. Tell them that your budget is tight, so could they go through the car, bumper to bumper, and make you a list of all the things that need attention or will need attention soon so that you can prioritize what you are going to do. Whether you take that list and do it yourself, find an Indy or run like hell it doesn't really matter at this time. Please just find out what you're up against. Maybe it is nothing... would be great to know that.

What should I expect to pay, on a bumper to bumper test to find all the issues? I don't want to be told $500 and think that is a normal price for such a thing.

It depends on the dealer. If they really want your business they might do it for free. I paid around (or just under) $200 for my last PPI from a Mercedes Indy. These guys have DAS and they only work on Mercedes and they are not cheap, though slight better than a dealer. I think you said you were in Florida? I'm sure there are two dealers within decent driving distance. Give 'em a call, ask for the service center and tell them you just bought a Mercedes and are figuring out where to get it serviced. Ask them how much it would cost for them to go over the car and work out a plan for you. Let them compete for you. They'd be crazy to throw out a high number. If it is over $250 then find an Indy. There are plenty of forum members in Florida. Post a topic asking for best Indy in your area.

I did ask, and got 0 replys on the indy search. Thou Asking local, I did find one, but he is typically booked weeks out, and charges list price for parts...

I have an appointment for this morning at the dealer.
The multipoint is free, but the computer diag is $150 an hour.
The car was dealer serviced by this same dealer.
They will give me the car history when I arrive.

That's just it, for 200 they told me I most likely have a bad injector.
He said everything else is good.
