I (mistakenly) really thought they had solved the problem. Then, out of the clear blue, the annoying noise is back with a vengeance. I think it is an engineering flaw and is NOT fixable.
Needless to say I'm pissed!

baaack. Now after the third "fix" and just under two months later, the d@mn "poi" noise is back and as pronouced as ever and drives me crazy. I hear it even with the radio attempting to drown it out.

Is this squeaky the 'groaning' caused by the SBCs ?
Past experiece with other cars got me to try this and it seems to do the trick for a little while. From what i understand, the squeaking is caused by a glazing of the brake rotor. They way this fix this is by basically sanding down your rotor in small circles to "rough it up".
Another way that has been working for me is to do one aggressive stop. Get it up to 30 mph or so, then really lay on the breaks just short of locking up the tires. A BMW mechanic told me to do this with my 540, and it did the trick. Seems to work with my e500 too. it's temporary fix, but one you can do fairly easily.
just my 2 cents.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think this is a cure for the problem, just a temporaary "band-aid".
