Halogen Headlights Active Cornering??

Hopefully someone can help me answer this: did any of the W211 cars equipped with halogen headlights have active cornering available as an option?

Yes: active cornering headlights were an option in 2004 (at least.)
But not for the halogens, just the xenon.

To the best of my knowledge bi-xenon only. You can view marketing brochures here: https://ragtop.org/mbbrochures/

I have a problem with my driver's side cornering light. The little Hella (brand) motor that performs the side to side action has failed. I can't justify paying for a whole new headlight assembly, and I've tried to get the part directly from Hella but couldn't find the matching part number anywhere.

I've seen a couple halogen units on ebay for under $100 that appear to have cornering, as they have the different chrome bezel with the gap around the projector trim. I've seen both bezel types on halogen headlights, causing me to think there might be an option for those cars to come equipped with active cornering. I could take the motor off of one of these and save myself hundreds of dollars!

You should try looking up the part number on epcnet or maybe someone here will give you the correct one based on your vin. A quick search on rockauto shows a complete assembly at $676, but doing a search on that part number yields one on ebay for $260 with broken tabs, but you probably just need the motor so maybe you can swap the part or check out car-parts.com to see if a junkyard might have it. Rockauto sometimes lists the wrong part number though so I'd double check the part number.

You are in luck I have one on hand, but before we discuss that. Have you opened the headlight and checked if it's not just the wiring?

I have actually. The same one that konigstiger posted in the post above this. Ordered the part, oven'd the lights apart, and no dice. Wiring was in great shape, but I placed the film in the headlights anyway. Didn't make a difference. Opening the lights wasn't all for naught though, I swapped out new projectors, and disabled both vertical and horizontal motors from both headlights by de-pinning the connectors.

I had previously taken the car to a dealership and asked them to align the headlights, they returned with a fault code for a failed motor on the driver's side. It matched the symptoms perfectly; (previously) when the car starts and I was driving straight everything worked, but as soon as I made a turn, the passenger light would turn, the driver's light would go nowhere, and the passenger light would go into error and stay stuck off to the right or left. Dealership said this is because the lights have to move together, or not at all.

TL;DR, I need that motor lol.

I purchased a motor/projector assembly a few years back. I was having an issue but after disassembly it was just the wiring.
I actually offered it here a while back, if you are really interested I'll make sure I still have it and try to dig up what it cost me.

I am definitely interested. Let me know if you can find it and price! I'm guessing it's working.
