2008 E350 4matic
iPod cable question

I have a 2008 E350 4matic with a Comand head unit. There is a 21 pin iPod cable in the glove box that connects an iPod Classic into the system. The connector's cover has fallen apart afte all the use. I was wondering if the connection to the Comand is with a basic USB plug, or did Mercedes put some kind of proprietary connection in the Comand, forcing me to spend a significant amount on a replacement cable? Thanks in advance.

I don't think the cable is that expensive, but it's not a USB connection.

Not sure about the part number but it might be something like this:

Have 2007 gl450

I wonder if the iPod connector would work with Android system if you use the converter box. It would be nice if you can use the steering column to adjust your tracks
