I went in to get the illuminated door sills put in and the service advisor goes, "What year car and model?" So I answer 2004 E320 and he looks at me and laughs. I said whats so funny bro? He goes, "only an E320?" and looks to the service advisor next to him and they both laugh. I said what do you mean only an E320?? So he still giggles. I got up and looked at him in the eyes and asked him what he meant by this rude remark. He goes, "we here at Mercedes try to concentrate our efforts towards our higher class models, such as the E500 or E55 AMG, customers more so just have a seat and we'll be with you in a minute or so."

He put the E320 down so bad that I once again looked at him and walked away with still my composure intacted.

So to all my E-class owners, those of you who have the E500, do you look down upon those with the E320??

you have got to be kidding! I cannot believe a dealership would tell you that, you should have asked what he drives.... I doubt he can afford an E320! Frankly, I would have mentioned this to the general manager and I would contact 1-800-mercedes and tell them about your experience at your dealer.

bro i applaud you for being the bigger man, i would have prob would have cussed him out and kicked his ***. You should have laughed back in his stupid face and ask him what's the picee of **** that gets him to work every day, tomorow i say stop by and give him a bus card. After i was done laughing at his bucket i would have continued laughing and with a smirk on my face i would have asked to see the manager. That is no way to be treated. Some people just dont need the added power it not always financial. People like that **** me off.

e320 has a lot of power imo that guy is obviously a jack-a$$ annoying, yes but nothing to lose sleep over there are tons of a-holes in this world, so don't even worry about it...believe me, in most countries, they consider the e240 really powerful, go figure

Turn that guy in with a very firm but professional letter to the manager. No excuse- That was a poor day for that dealership

One can get an E500 for less than what one must spend to get a fully optioned E320. If it is any consolation the guys who rip their badges off the trunk lid usually have the more powerful engines. Another way to look at it is that as an E320 buyer you did not have to throw away $1000 plus for the gas guzzler tax and I believe your speed is limited to the same speed as the E500 anyway. Sure the E500 gets a few ticks more when it comes to acceleration but the lowly E320 CDI diesel now hitting our shores equals, if not outperforms, the 500 in the torque department anyway. Furthermore, the E320 is the performance model of choice in most countries where it outperforms the more common E240, E200, and lower powered diesel variants.

Now comparing the E320 (or E500 for that matter) to the AMG E is something else but those guys pay an extra $20,000.00 for the priviledge.
