Considering 2003 - E500 with 48600 miles
Hello
I'm thinking of buying 2003 - E500 with 48600 miles on it. What would be the maintenance cost for next 3 years (30,000 miles). How much should I pay for this car?

Have you been able to get SBC count and air bags age?
If those things become due, it is about $6000 maintenance at dealer.
Those cars sell pretty cheap for a reason.

6000.00 plus transmission service 400.00 + brake flush 200.00 + flex joints 400.00 =7,000.00 + oil changes etc.

The worst ones were the early ones too, they got slightly better in 2004/2005 but weren't really decent til 2008/2009. You're probably better off spending that 6k on a 2007+ one, some early 2007's still had engine problems. But by 2007, SBC was gone, it had a face lift, bluetooth was better. You still have airmatic though.
