Need Advice - Repair or Sell?
I have an '09 E550 Sport w/ 68k miles that recently experienced it's first Airmatic strut failure.
While in for repair, I was told that it's going to need motor mounts before too long.
If I keep it, I'll likely convert to springs / shocks or coilovers and then hang onto it for quite a while. So, the many thousand dollars of repairs in the near future has me pondering if I should just sell it.
I've had it listed for $18k for quite a while and think I would be lucky to get $17k for it. Does that seem fair?
Any other thoughts? How reliable are these cars long term once the suspension issues are resolved?

I keep an eye on the subject and usually air bags last 10 years, so your failed kind of prematurely.
Once you replace them and buy $17 compressor rebuild kit, you should be good for another 10 years, or at least 7 like with original bag.
We do have one W211 with struts and W211 wagon with rear air and even wagon has lower tires, it feels more comfortable.
Selling is another story.

Some stuff will go wrong in the future, but do you have any reason to suspect any big things?

I think you'd be lucky to get 15-16k for it and you should list it for 17k. 18k is more like the dealer price and maybe he'd let it go for 17k. How much did a dealer offer you as a trade in?
