Mercedes e class common problems
Hi all, New to the forum, I'm thinking of getting a e class 2.2 cdi around a 58 plate but can only afford one with high mileage 130k plus, High mileage doesn't really bother me, but would like to know what kind of common faults these cars suffer from and watch to look for. Thanks in advance. Mark

Is 130,000 really a high mileage?
We have cars, SUV's and pickups in the family and the lowest mileage is in my 2008 E320 Bluetec which I just bought 4 months ago - it has 130,000 miles!

Electronics are more trouble than the drivetrain. My biggest issue has been figuring out a failed module. If you are relying on paying other's to work on them, the time can add up.
I saw a response to this kind of question a few years ago that said it best.

Try putting new cdi engine with this budget?
Knowing the country would help. We don't know if models in question do have SBC, airmatic, voice command and DVD?
220cdi have been for years engine of choice for West-Europe taxi drivers ,but those cars aged and were sold to private users.
That said, rolling back odometers is still pretty popular in Europe, so the car showing 130k might have actuall 530k.
