Reduced braking power start engine?

Ok so it turned out there were some issues with the grounding so mechanic said he updated it, not sure what that means though. He also said it needed a new some kind of hose? So once it's installed and bled with the new hose he thinks it will be working as it should now. I'll get the car back by the end of the day so we shall see..

So it was a brake suction hose they had to replace and after bleeding and flushing brake fluid, everything seems to be in order. The brakes are stiff and more responsive and best of all I don't have to turn the ignition 20 times to remove the red warning message. Total cost including part and labor came out to around $1500, which seems to be a fair price.

If attached recalls are applicable to your VIN, check with local MB dealer to confirm they were completed by having them check VMI. If not, repair is free. Bulletin covers suction hose, don't think this is your problem though.

Reduced Braking Power Start Engine but won’t start
Hi I have a 06 E350 with nearly 200k miles on it. Every now and then I would get this message "Reduced braking power start engine" and when I turn it on it would then say "Reduced braking power visit workshop." Upon restarting the car (sometimes it takes more than once) the message would go away and the car seems to drive fine. But when I drove with the message on it had the ABS error sign on and the brakes seemed a little off, and didnt feel like it was grabbing it. What might be the problem here?

It sounds like the intermittent "Reduced braking power" message and ABS warning on your E350 could be related to a few potential issues.
